Hello!

I am a Swedish illustrator, history buff, fantasy nerd, map maniac, and designer who makes 2D hand-drawn maps for companies and individual clients.

Maps for Sala Silvergruva

In the 1500s, King Gustav Vasa used to call the Sala Silvergruva (Sala Silver Mine) “Sweden’s Treasure Chest." I was hired to draw two maps of the central area and a map of the surrounding area of the mine.

Fill out the form, and I'll contact you to discuss in detail which kind of map you'd like to have made and what approximate size. Prices vary depending on the size of the area and output.

When I create a map, I usually start with Google Maps or Google Earth (if the place is located in Sweden, I use the maps from Lantmäteriet). Then, I study the place in depth. In Sala's case, I went there multiple times to get a feel for what it looked like. But all projects are different, of course!

If you prefer, you can email me instead of filling out the form. Do whatever works best for you!

You can reach me anytime at hello@kartmonstret.se.

I want to order a map! How does it work?

The person behind the monster 🤓

My earlier professional career has been primarily within print production, UX/UI design, and product design for the last decade. Occasionally, I did some illustration gigs just for fun. But last year, I decided to quit the tech industry. I wanted to work with something closer to my hobbies: maps, people, and places.

Happy to see you here!

I’ve been obsessed with maps for as long as I can remember. When I draw, I get inspiration from traveling, reading, playing Stardew Valley, and checking out old and new maps.
